Gluten Free Birthday Cake Recipe
To test the cakes for doneness, insert a cake tester or toothpick in the middle of each cake and be sure it comes out clean, with very few crumbs attached. The cakes will also begin to pull away slightly from the sides of the pans. Add time if necessary to fully bake the cakes. When done, turn off the oven and leave the oven door open to let the cakes cool slowly there for 5 minutes or so, then remove the cakes to a cooling rack. After 15-20 minutes of total cooling time, gently invert the cakes to remove them from the pans, then flip gently back onto the cooling rack until fully cooled. Frost the cakes only when fully cooled, or in the alternative, you may wrap the cakes with wax paper or plastic wrap and seal inside freezer bags to freeze or refrigerate until ready to use. Lemon Buttercream Frosting or plain white or chocolate frosting are yummy choices for this recipe! For all kinds of fun decorated cake ideas, hop over to my post on decorating other fun cakes! If you’re looking for something extra fancy, note that fondants are generally gluten-free, as well. Look for Satin Ice or brands like Wilton pre-made or homemade recipes and use only gluten-free ingredients.
Mid-term school holiday is here! It's time for Rishie to relax and play with sister Ashika more. And I can enjoy being home rather than sunny, head-cracking outdoor! Waiting for dear Hubby to return soon! Both my kids are chocoholics just like their Papa! When Rishie requested for a chocolate cake, I just thought of this recipe which is truly moisty, chocolatey and delicious. I find the sweetness was just right as we had the cake topped with choc ganache and Cadbury chocs. Luckily I had 2 little assistants who readily helped me to arrange the choc pieces. Ashika was really excited helping me out. She just likes to imitate whatever I do in the kitchen. Thus, I had to keep my knives and sharp tools way higher! Btw, she fell asleep while waiting for me to finish with the photoshoot, but nothing went right when I shot these pics. Enough said, here's the recipe to the sinfully delicious Moist Chocolate Cake. 1. In a bowl, sift together all purpose flour, cocoa, baking powder and soda. 2. Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until smooth. 3. Beat in eggs, one at a time. 4. Add evaporated milk and flour mixture gradually, continue beating using low speed until done and fully incorporated. Scrape the sides with a cake spatula. 6. The cake is done when a skewer or toothpick inserted comes out clean. 7. Cool on a wire rack. Add chocolate ganache or top with strawberries. 1. Using double-boiler method, melt dark cocoa together with condensed milk and butter. 2. Stir until the mixture thickens. 3. Cool before spreading on the cake.
