What Does Forever Look Like,
The following excerpt is removed from the book, The Shift, by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. I recently had the pleasure of viewing an uplifting documentary titled Hasten Slowly: The Journey of Sir Laurens van der Post. Sir Laurens spent a substantial amount of time together with the Kalahari Bushmen, collecting their stories.
There will be the Great Hunger and there will be the Little Hunger. There is nothing wrong while looking for happiness. But of considerably more comfort on the soul . Because meaning transfigures all. I’ve been engaged for countless years in helping people (including myself) reach their highest potential. I have now made almost 70 trips around our sun, along with the one thing that shines very clearly is the fact all individuals want our way of life to have purpose and meaning.
In this book, I elucidate what is apparently required to reach circumstances of conscious, enlightened awareness that nurtures a life of purpose and meaning. When the movie until this book hails from was first released, it absolutely was titled Ambition to Meaning, yet some people were puzzled by what those words meant or the film involved. It seems that this title became a bit misleading, perhaps indicating that I’d designed a documentary or simply captured one among my lectures on film.
During the inaugural national tour in the event the movie was shown select audiences, I expressed my view concerning the title’s confusion on the director along with the executive producer. I said, “I love this movie; however, if I were doing it over, I’d have a different title. As I contemplated the best way to present this essential message inside a companion book on the movie, a deep meditation led me make use of these four words as the publication’s organizational format. This is what exactly you now hold with you (or build your book reader).
All folks on this glorious human voyage into adulthood must make some shifts, or transitions, throughout the trip. Hopefully, we're going to go beyond the primary two mandatory ones and begin mastering those shifts in consciousness which lead to a life loaded with purpose. Now what do I mean with this, The first shift that individuals all make takes us from nonbeing to being; from Spirit in order to create; through the invisible to the corporeal realm of things, boundaries, and stuff. So, the primary chapter with this book is titled “From.
” In my own humble (and, I’m certain, imperfect) fashion, I attempt to define the undefinable using keywords that are mere symbols of the which defies description. Nevertheless, it’s what I’ve arrive at view as what that realm of invisible Spirit, that all things originate and also to which they all return, appears to be.
The next shift I portray may be the shift from From to Ambition—thus, “Ambition . ” may be the title of Chapter 2. Ambition would be the phase where we handle an ego self that may be the opposite of the best place of Spirit where we came. Ego in this particular context is our false self. These are two major and mandatory shifts that any of us undertake on this voyage individuals humanness. Many individuals reach the end individuals life journey having only made the above transitions. Ambition, sadly, is often the end with the life story.
In my fi lm and on this book, I propose that we now have two additional shifts available to everyone. When we proceed with him or her, the “life without meaning” that Sir Laurens described isn’t the end in the story. We can all decide to make the leap beyond the second shift in the ego-driven ambition.
The third chapter is titled “To . The shift described in Chapter 4 is “Meaning.” As we abandon that false self and commence our return trip returning to Source while we’re still alive, we live by a fresh set of guidelines. We discover how the laws in the material world do not necessarily apply within the presence with the Meaning that is encouraged by our shift to Source.
Manifestation of miracles and newly discovered synchronicity continue to populate the landscape of life. Indeed, Meaning is the thing that now defines all on the moments in our existence. In my experience, unfortunately, ego’s Ambition will be the final aim of so many lives—yet you will find signs we can easily notice that signal the above additional shifts that release us from the illusion of ego comforts.
