Delicious. I also was raised on this.
Sort of such as sweetened version from the British Yorkshire pudding.
Love this pancake—the way it puffs up with virtually no leavening agent. Also known as Dutch Baby pancake. Works best in the well-seasoned certain pan.

Delish! We used rice milk because of lactose avoidance, and yes it turned out nice and crisp across the edges, and thin and tender inside. Kind of like a mixture of crepes and pancakes. Less "eggy" flavor than another dutch baby recipe I tried simultaneously. Oh, and I forgot the nutmeg, soI just sprinkled on the top before it went from the oven. Turned out wonderful.

Good to find out it works with rice milk. Wonder whether or not this would flourish with almond milk, May try it out. Thanks for your comment!
My mom made this for us on a regular basis when we were little. It was magical to observe the pancake puff up within the oven plus the whole house smelled sweet and lemony. Thanks for bringing those memories back!
This delicious dish has developed into a weekend tradition at home. Using a certain skillet really took it ostentatious. I would eat it everyday if there was less butter involved, but it is a great treat which is!
Delicious & SO easy!! Love how it's crusty & soft!!! My concern is this recipe is just too big small of an serving for our kids!! Only have one ovenproof skillet & I see someone doubled recipe & used a considerable glass dish. Trying this tomm with leftover soup!!!

I have 6 kiddos and I have the identical issue. But, I have mastered a quad recipe within a stainless sell steamer tray, much to my kiddos delight. Also does fine in glass or SS 9x13 pans. Just be sure to err an the inside of inadequate batter when you use anything but certain.

I used this recipe a long time ago misplaced it and glad to get it. When I made the pancake I designed a topping using sour cream, butter, powdered sugar, and lemon. Cream the powdered sugar and butter to taste, add sour cream and lemon. Pour on pancake.
That topping sounds amazing - what a terrific idea!
When I read this I attended my recipe box that is certainly about 50 years old and got out the recipe around my handwriting with all the same title. It has been a well liked all on this time. Last year I designed a savory version with cheese and cooked crumbled bacon that has been yummy.
Hi Sara. That sounds amazing. I'd love the recipe! Will you share,

This is/was for the menu with a fabulous devote Toledo, Ohio! They named it a German pancake. So glad to have a recipe!
I just made this for your first time inside a vintage Le Creuset skillet. It was perfect. I have one question: it's meant to be kind of wet inside the center, right, I cooked it for 15 minutes plus the sides were golden. I wonder if I should get forced out a bit longer the next time, Here's a photo of my results

It looks great! Should be just a little moist and custardy inside the center - but if you enjoy it more cooked, keep it inside the oven for an additional minute.

Made it for your 1st time today... was clueless about I was outside of butter (how,) and used unrefined coconut oil instead - absolutely amazing with just a touch of coconut that went well with lemon. Next weekend I'll undertake it up with butter! (This recipe will be into regular rotation.)

Light, yet luxurious, like eating a sugary lemony thin cloud! First time I've ever designed a pancake in a oven so I was apprehensive, there is absolutely no turning back now I'm afraid. Fantastic.
