You'll provide an elegant centerpiece for a meal on this tender, juicy turkey. The cranberry can make it so good. It has this type of wonderful aroma and flavor. —Kara de la Vega, Santa Rosa, California

Ingredients

3/4 cup reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce

1/2 cup honey

2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce

4 sprigs fresh herbs, including thyme, rosemary, parsley and sage

2 medium onions, cut into wedges

Directions

Preheat oven to 325°. Combine garlic powder, salt and pepper. With fingers, carefully loosen skin from turkey breast; spread one half of the seasoning mixture underneath the skin. Sprinkle skin with remaining mixture. Tuck wings under turkey; tie drumsticks together.

Juice the orange, reserving the rind. In a large bowl, mix cranberry sauce, teriyaki sauce, honey, marmalade, soy sauce and orange juice. Remove 3-1/2 cups mixture for sauce; refrigerate, covered, until serving.

Rub remaining cranberry mixture under turkey skin. Secure skin to underside of breast with toothpicks. Place herb sprigs and reserved orange rind in turkey cavity.

Arrange onions in a very shallow roasting pan coated with cooking spray. Place turkey over onions. Roast 3 to 3-1/2 hours or until a thermometer inserted in thickest a part of thigh reads 170°-175°. (Cover loosely with foil if turkey browns too soon.)

Remove turkey from oven; tent with foil. Let stand 20 mins before carving. Discard herb sprigs and orange rind. Place reserved sauce inside a small saucepan; heat through. Serve with turkey. Yield: 14 servings (3-1/2 cups sauce).

MY REVIEW

"Wasn't able to find gluten-free teriyaki sauce (hubby with celiac) so substituted iron chef orange sauce with ginger. Little salty so skipped salt in the skin. Added most cup brown sugar. Simmered the remainder of the sauce with one extra juiced orange, only to thicken it a lttle bit. Absolutely yummy! Thank you!!!!"

"This was great. The turkey was infused with great herb flavor. The sauce was different but tasty, I thought. The sauce will be really good with ham and pork likewise. May make the sauce again themselves for other meats. Will be making the turkey again because it is so an easy task to prepare."

"I used this reciepe for my Thanksgiving turkey and was written in context as all that the turkey "was the very best ever!!" The turkey was juicy with numerous great but sublte flavor. That being said however, the cranberry orange sauce using the teriaki and soy sauce was awful but that will just be an idea preferance. But I will make less sauce next occasion."
