Tilapia, a rather plentiful fish, has got the unfortunate standing of being dull. All it takes is a spice rub, a familiar barbecuing technique that work well just as well indoors. You could also take advantage of this rub on chicken breasts or toss it with lightly oiled shrimp before cooking.

Bring 1 " of water with a boil in the large saucepan. Put asparagus in a very steamer basket, put in place the pan, cover and steam until tender-crisp, about 4 minutes. Transfer to your large plate, spreading to cool.

Combine chili powder, garlic powder and ¼ teaspoon salt with a plate. Dredge fillets inside spice mixture to coat. Heat oil within a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish and cook until just opaque from the center, gently turning halfway, 6 or 7 minutes total. Divide among 4 plates. Immediately add freshly squeezed lemon juice, the remainder ¼ teaspoon salt and asparagus on the pan and cook, stirring constantly, till the asparagus is coated and heated through, about 2 minutes. Serve the asparagus together with the fish.

I made this one evening because I wanted to behave different with fish. I used cod and tilapia. Added a tablespoon extra chili powder, one teaspoon fresh grated garlic, one tablespoon lime juice and used string beans because it is exactly what I had around. My 16 yr old added some steamed brown rice to her plate but I had mine equally it is. My palate and tummy were extremely happy. I will definitely be creating this dish again.

Perfect. Only thing I did was twice the spice.. easier rub..covered the pan while cooking several extra minutes par side. I need virtually any meat cooked!! Perfect. Tender and yummy. Adding to my recipe box.

The tilapia was simple and easy delicious! The asparagus was overpowered by lemon. I used 1 number of fresh asparagus (about 1 lb) and would 1 Tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice at the most. This would have gone nicely with roasted red potatoes or mashed potatoes.

Instead of earning the rub I just sprinkled the seasoning around the fish and I didn't use lemon by any means! It was delicious! Thank You.

I wouldn't put as much freshly squeezed lemon juice as it demands, it made the asparagus to sour.

Excellent meal for two, and I don't cook fish! I liked this recipe, and I'm not just a big fish person. It wasn't spicy like I thought it will be, and might have used fresh garlic. I used fresh green beans as opposed to asparagus, tossing it inside pan with fresh squeezed lemon such as recipe says, and my boyfriend and I really liked it. Nice job, I'll definitely ensure it is again! Pros: Easy, tasty, healthy, clear instructions, cheap, or a novice can perform it! Cons: Definitely needs the lemon for flavor

Easy plus a hit! This is so simple! I have found that any veggie works. Don't be put off because of the asparagus. I have used it with broccoli and green beans. Will probably try it out with kale or spinach at some time. I had to depart out the salt as a result of low sodium diet. I did deglaze the pan with a bit of white wine. I felt it needed some liquid and easily threw some white wine in understanding that was good. This is usually a hit with my whole family. Pros: Easy

Delicious, Simple and Fast! I used two big fillet of tilapia that totaled one pound and I had to use more chilli powder and yes it taste great-not too spicy by any means. I served having a creamy parmesean polenta to round the meal. Turned out amazing! Pros: Easy, quick, tasty, filling, healthy
