Smoked turkey creates one of my personal favorite turkey recipes. Ever. Seriously.

Bart is smoking chicken and turkey for some time now and allow me to just show you - it is about as easy as you can get. There isn't a brining, basting, or babysitting this bird. Making it by far the most fuss-free turkey recipe I think we've available. And you know, in relation to the holidays or special occasions, fuss-free is exactly what I'm longing for.

I call that the definite win!

If you do not possess a smoker, don't be concerned, we have a way you can get this on your grill too!

Perfectly cooked, juicy, to be able oh so delicious smoky flavor, this turkey is without a doubt one that our kids loves.

To smoke your turkey, you'll commence with a fully thawed turkey that weighs between 10 and 12 pounds. As your smoker is preheating, do not delay- brush your turkey using the olive oil and rub with salt and pepper, if you use the pepper.

We wish to use the lump charcoal briquettes with his Big Green Egg smoker when they seem to have a much more consistent burn than when we've used wood. However, if you use wood, I would recommend hickory.

You'll desire to make sure that you periodically look at the charcoal or wood, if using, to replenish it as a needed.

Bart uses his Big Green Egg frequently for smoking, we invested in the BBQ Guru Cyber Q a bit back to help in keeping tabs and manage the temperature from the smoker. (Christmas wish list alert!) If you have an enthusiastic smoker with your Christmas list, I can't recommend it enough!

Here's Bart's Smoked Turkey recipe. Give it a try. You may just decide it is certainly one of your favorite means of cooking a turkey, too.
