Even if your work schedule is Monday-Friday, the week-end mornings often get filled up with other obligations and activities. Just the thought of a lazy morning, with nothing to do but make and enjoy a batch of banana pancakes with your family sounds like heaven. If you're like most people, and don't have the time to make many homemade dishes, you may think that making banana pancakes is complicated.
The truth is that there are many different ways to create this tantalizing dish at home, and you can choose from the exotic gourmet recipe to a very simple and easy one. Whatever kind you want to make, they all use common ingredients and recipes are fairly easy to find.
The basic ingredients for any banana pancake recipe are: flour, milk or buttermilk, sugar, eggs, butter, and of course, bananas. Some recipes tell you to mash or puree the bananas and add them to the batter. Other recipes tell you to cut the bananas into small chunks and saute them slightly in butter and sugar or honey and then either add them to the batter or add as garnish to the top of the cooked pancakes. I made these for breakfast a few days ago; they were nothing short of fantastic! Made these pancakes for brunch this morning and they were AMAZING! The syrup added so much delicious blueberry flavor…a big improvement on my regular blueberry pancakes. Love all your recipes and can’t wait to try these pancakes! Question….do you have a favorite nonstick skillet/ griddle, I am in need of a new one, but am confused by all the options. Your opinion would be appreciated. Hi Janet, I know that Anolon makes a good stovetop griddle, as well as All-Clad and Calphalon.
These were super delicious! We tried mixing in diced strawberries my 5 yr old insisted! The blueberry maple syrup was a perfect accompaniment not too sweet and with a hint of maple. I did have to adjust the heat to get them just right even still a great recipe. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed. Happy Pancake Day my dear friends! To celebrate, a big batch of freshly homemade pancakes is a must. This fool-proof super fluffly buttermilk pancakes recipe is simple, easy and ready within minutes. No matter how busy your morning looks, it won’t get in the way of your early celebrations. When you see how easy it is to make delicious, light pancakes from scratch, you’ll wonder why you never tried this recipe before!
The buttermilk gives them a wonderful flavor, and they are light, airy and SO yummy. These simple buttermilk pancakes require very little effort to make and are ready in just 10 mins. You only need 6 simple ingredients: all-purpose flour, buttermilk, baking powder & soda, eggs, butter and of course your favorite toppings. For me strawberries, banana, blueberries and fruits in general make the best toppings, and are an easy way to get at least 1 portion of your 5 a day. But if you want to scatter some chocolate chips on top, who am I to judge,
When making buttermilk pancakes, the key to success is to not overmix your batter. Don’t panic if the batter isn’t smooth, it’s supposed to have some tiny lumps. Once cooked, your pancakes will be light and fluffly. Start by mixing all the ingredients together to make your pancake batter. First mix the dry ingredients, then fold in the beaten eggs, buttermilk and butter.
