Easy Applesauce Pancakes Recipe (Dairy-Free & Oil-Free)

pancake recipe easy
Many years ago, I stumbled upon a fabulous 5-star recipe for applesauce pancakes on AllRecipes. It was easy to adapt for dairy free, and the stacks are delicious topped with maple syrup, warm honey, apple butter, or fresh fruit. Today, I’m updating this old recipe post for easier use and with some recommendations!

Some popular dairy-free pancake mix options include Bisquick, Bisquick Heart Smart, Annie’s Organic, and Bob’s Red Mill Organic 7-Grain. Avoid “Complete” pancake mixes that just call for water. They will produce a batter that is too thin. We haven’t tested a gluten-free version of this recipe, but it might work with a gluten-free pancake mix, like Gluten-Free Bisquick.

By ingredients, this recipe is dairy-free / non-dairy, nut-free, peanut-free, soy-free, and vegetarian. Be sure to use a "normal" pancake mix that calls for eggs and liquid, not a "complete" one that just calls for water. See the post, above and below this recipe, for dairy-free pancake mix suggestions. 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the pancake mix and cinnamon.

Make a well in the center of the pancake mix. Add the eggs, applesauce, milk beverage, and lemon juice and stir until smooth. 2. Heat a lightly greased griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. 3. Pour or scoop the batter onto your prepared griddle, using approximately ¼ cup for each pancake. Cook until golden on the bottom and bubbles burst and stay open on top, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden, about 1 to 2 minutes.

The brand, Jon decided, would be rustic, natural and wholesome — a reflection of the salt-of-the-earth life the Clarks lived in Utah. The product had to be healthy and whole grain, but also tasty. Penny encouraged Jon's entrepreneurial efforts so he set about modifying the recipe to turn it into an easy "add water only" mix. He experimented in the kitchen, asking his friends for their opinion on the pancakes.

Jon launched Kodiak Cakes in 1995, manufacturing the mix with the help of a small co-packer in Utah, storing the inventory (about 120 cases) in his basement. Jon and Joel, 21 at the time and a student at the University of Utah, set about selling the mix. Gone was the little wagon, but the brothers still sold the product door-to-door to gift shops, hitting ski towns like Park City, Utah, Jackson, Wyoming, and Sun Valley, Idaho. “It was actually a lot of fun,” Joel tells CNBC Make It .

30,000, according to the company. For the next couple of years, Jon operated Kodiak as a simple side hustle, with Joel helping with selling the product. 29,000, Jon asked Joel to take over the company; Jon had a family and wanted a steadier income. So he passed along the business and began working in health-care consulting. At the time, Joel was still a college student, but he'd always had an entrepreneurial spirit, dating to his red wagon days. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he operated Kodiak on the side for the next seven years. At one point, Joel left to go to London for his MBA, so he enlisted a University of Utah student to keep the company afloat for the year. Joel also held down jobs in management consulting, with Kodiak continuing to chug along.

Dutch Baby Pancakes are sooo good! Here’s my recipe on how to make baked pancakes. This Dutch baby pancake recipe was put together for the charity Harrisons Fund that is a charity set up to help fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystropy which is a terrible condition and one that I personally support.

Unlike my other pancake recipes; such as my big fluffy American ones, or my French crepes, the Dutch baby pancakes are really easy and truth be told - a lot less work mucking about frying tons of pancakes. Dutch Baby Pancake are great for feeding hungry kids (and adults at the weekend) I like to make one each and then it’s done! Baked pancakes are a really nice way to cook pancakes with virtually no fuss; enjoy at your peril!

The most impressive moment of making a Dutch Baby Pancake is the first few seconds when you take it out of the oven and it is all puffed up and lovely. It does quickly deflate (not a lot, but a little) so I’m just letting you. Before we begin with the Dutch baby pancake recipe, one question I asked as soon as I heard about them was; what the hell is a Dutch baby pancake,
