Homemade Pancakes Recipe In A Blender
Ok friends, this one is a good one. And how I stubbled upon this homemade pancakes recipe is kinda funny… So my kids take dance. My hubby’s family runs a dance studio, in fact my father-in-law was in Footloose- yes the original movie! I spend a good portion of my afternoons during the school year at the dance studio.
The mom’s always sit and chat while the kids are taking their lessons. One day we were discussing breakfast options. I know.. thrilling hah! Anyways, one of our “dance mom buddies” is actually dad. He chimed in to the conversation and told us about his super easy homemade pancakes recipe he makes for his kids all the time.
Not gonna lie, I was a little surprised to hear he had a great pancake recipe up his sleeve but I loved it! So awesome when you see men helping out in the kitchen and even more amazing that he had a pancake recipe memorized! He shared the recipe with us mom’s and I gave it a whirl. My kids ate them up.
I ate them up! After making them for a few months, this homemade pancakes recipe become my pancake go-to. They are fluffy and easy, great flavor. The recipe actually calls for an egg. I love it when pancakes have eggs in them. The egg adds to the flavor and the extra protein is nice.
I throw all the ingredients into my Blendtec and press the batter setting and let it mix! The best part is pouring the pancakes straight from the the Blendtec jar. Makes clean up a breeze. I loved this picture below, a little snapshot of what many of our lazy summer mornings look like. Pancakes cooking while hungry sleepy kids watch a few cartoons. Even the old plastic plate snuck into the picture.
I’ve been making the best buttermilk cornmeal pancakes recently…they are addicting! Hmmm…. I think you have something there with your methodology of adding the baking soda and mixing the dry into the wet. Here I use bisquick…. Here in the City of Angels, I missed pancakes on Sunday… and you post this,
I think I am going to skip the oatmeal this morning & go get myself a waffle or pancake from the cafe. See how you inspire me, Hmmm…. I do adore pancakes! That is what I’m having for breakfast as soon as my medical diet is over! Our recipes are really similar - or exactly the same if you’re talking about the skirt-tugging thing. It never occurred to me to mix the egg&milk together first - brilliant - and I will now start adding vanilla extract and a little less sugar than I currently use. I use a non-stick frypan and find that the melted butter in the batter is more than enough to keep them sticking to the pan. Thanks for posting this! I’ve often wondered how you make your pancakes… Americans are experts in this field.
I thought these pancakes were a wonderful start. They really did have a wonderful texture and consistency….thick and fluffy, as promised! My only complaint is that they were a bit bland tasting for me. In our house we eat our pancakes plain of with maybe just a sprinkling of powdered sugar, not slathered in syrup. I think next time I would add some vanilla, or maybe a bit more sugar….or use butter instead of oil, A great base recipe…but something was missing! Best pancakes I have ever made.
