I whipped the egg white and got some very fluffy pancakes! Smiles all around. Will have to save this recipe! Used the buttermilk version. Thanks for providing adjustments to other ingredients. Will be making it over and over again for Sunday breakfast! My 10 yr old son devoured the stack; now one of his favs. Luckily it's eazy enough for him to make too!
Best pancake recipe ever! I've been looking for a fluffy pancake recipe and I always get the chewy thin pancakes - not bad, but not what I wanted. I didn't even whip the egg whites. I did not get fluffy pancakes. My pancakes came out flat. It still has a great flavor but still flat!
Whipped the egg and used an iron skillet to get half inch thick fluffy pancakes. I used a cup of milk and then added milk little by little until I was happy with the consistency. 1.25 cups of 2% milk made for a runny batter but a good buttermilk batter. This recipe has everything that was missing from my original attempts. They taste amazing and they are fluffy and my family loves them.
Have made them a few times, but finally got it perfect! A little white vinegar in the milk makes great "buttermilk" and whippin' that egg white was key! I've tried several, this is the best so far. I used about 1/8 cup less milk and a smidge extra vanilla the second time, perfect! Whipping the egg made a big difference in consistancy. AND the edges are dry to flip! Made them as waffles.
Came out fine. Didn't make any changes. I believe these are the BEST pancakes I have made. Light and fluffy. The only change I made was to add two eggs instead of one. This morning I ran out of Bisquick and had to make pancakes for my 2 boys and a sleepover friend and this recipe was delicious!
Fluffy, tasty and easy. My sons said they tasted much better than Bisquick pancakes; I'll never buy that box again. My pancakes were not fluffy. They tasted amazing but they werent fluffy. I used the extra fluffy version and whipped the egg white, but still used regular whole milk. Although I think I should have folded the egg white in last, these pancakes still turned out really good. Weren't super fluffy, but good and had a very good flavor.
This will probably be my new regular recipe! Made these this morning to suprise the wife, instead surprised myself on actually how good they turned out. Was a HIT. Thanks for posting this recipe. Added chocolate chips to them and was by far the best chocolate chip pancakes we've had.
I usually don't like fluffy pancakes, but these were really good & my kids loved them. I wish I had read how many one batch makes before I made it, I would have doubled it. Either way it's quick and easy to throw the stuff together so no big deal really.
