Mixing some whole wheat flour half and half with the regular flour would have been fun and more nutritious. After reading this I need to get some whole wheat flour! Applesauce also makes a great topping for pancakes in place of syrup. I'm so glad you liked it. You'll have to let me know how they turn out for you!

OoOo, wheat pancakes sound yummy and healthy! As healthy as pancakes can be soaked in maple syrup! I'm totally sending this recipe over to the hubby to make me for Mother's Day! Oh yeah. The little one I was making them for wanted different shapes each time, but no toppings. I'm a big filling person. I like chocolate chips sometimes, pears sometimes, and even apples. My husband is all about the toppings. He loves lots of butter, syrup, and sometimes even peaches. Pancakes give so much opportunity for creative minds.
