Perusing through the manual that came with my quesadilla maker, it said you could make pancakes in it! Pancakes are my favorite food.
Or at least one of my favorite foods. After the first test batch, I was hooked! Quesadilla makers make pancakes so much better than skillets or grills. They work on the same principle as waffle makers. Plug in the seasoned quesadilla maker, pour in a half cup of pancake batter and 3-4 minutes later lift the lid and scoop out a perfect pancake! To season a quesadilla maker all you have to do is put a teaspoon of oil on the griddle when it's cold, then take a paper towel and coat both sides with the oil.
Turn on the quesadilla maker and when it's hot it's ready! Yes, you can use the quesadilla maker to make quesadillas too! And french toast, and paninis and a few other things. I'm ordering a second quesadilla maker so I can make breakfast twice as fast. Or lunch or dinner.
These babies are great! This is my own fabulous recipe and I would eat these pancakes every morning if I could. I usually have them on Sunday brunch or dinner. I'm too lazy to make them for breakfast. Combine the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients. Mix just until moist, don't over mix.
Pour 1/2 cup of pancake batter onto the quesadilla maker plate and close the lid. Remove the pancake after 3 to 4 minutes. Add syrup and enjoy! These are my all time favorite pancakes. In another large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Add the liquid ingredients to the flour mixture and stir just until combined. Stir in the melted butter.

Cook 2 to 3 minutes per side or until lightly browned. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and croissant halves. Set aside and keep warm. In a large skillet, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, maple syrup and pecans. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, and simmer for 2 minutes. Add banana halves and rum extract.
