Weight Watchers Tilapia Recipe

This tilapia recipe isn't just super delicious, it is usually ready in just minutes.

If you've never tasted tilapia, allow me to introduce you to it using this type of simple recipe.

Tilapia is such a gentle tasting fish that even folks that don't like fish usually enjoy it.

My husband for just one, is not a fish lover but LOVED this recipe! The seasonings are perfect, with just a suggestion of spice.

I will have lemons accessible, as well as a squeeze from your lemon slice adds something to almost any fish recipe.

Most blackened recipes are excessively spicy for my taste, yet not this homemade blend.

The tilapia is pan fried in heart-healthy extra virgin olive oil. It's so juicy and tender, rather than dry in any respect. Cook this up to get a quick, healthy dinner any evening of the week.

Each skinny serving has 195 calories, 7 grams of fat and 4 Weight Watchers SmartPoints.

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

In a tiny bowl, mix together all seasoning ingredients. Spread out over a plate.

Rinse tilapia and pat dry. Dip every piece into seasonings and coat on either side. Be sure every bit is coated well.

Heat organic olive oil in a large nonstick pan. When pan is hot, add fish, cover and cook over medium heat about 3 minutes. Using a spatula, turn fish over, cover and then cook about 2-3 minutes, until fish is performed.

Be certain to serve with lemon slices. This fish tastes particularly delicious with lemon squeeze extraordinary.

Food Facts

Tilapia can be a variety of mild white fish available year-round whole, fresh or frozen, usually as fillets. Since 2000, tilapia ranks among the most popular fish consumed inside United States thanks mainly to the mild taste and reasonable price.

Healthy Benefits

Tilapia is abundant with protein, lacking in fat along with a source of minerals and vitamins. Tilapia contains some heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids yet not as much as other fish, including salmon. Still, it must be on any number of healthy foods!

Shopping Tips

Most supermarkets sell tilapia on the fish counter. It's often sold fresh, not frozen. And fresh is my favorite method to buy it.

In my photo, the pieces I bought were bigger 5 ounces so I take off the ends and froze them for one more use. If you buy and cook larger servings, realize that the nutritional information and calculated SmartPoints will change.

I love the taste of smoked paprika more options than regular paprika. It has the aroma of BBQ flavors and intensely enhances the taste of any recipe which uses paprika. I can't help but recommend using it with this recipe. You'll find it in many supermarkets inside the spice aisle. I bought mine at Trader Joe's. It adds deliciousness to your savory dish in which you want a rich, smoky taste.

Serving Tip

I love this fish served with my recipe for Simply, Skinny Crunchy Slaw It will pair well with any salad or green vegetable.
