Tilapia can be sold whole, but often as fillets. The fish can be purchased fresh or frozen. As they're farmed, whole tilapia needs to be fresh nevertheless in rigor mortis as they're prone to have reached their destination quickly.
Preparation
Tilapia fillets require no preparation in any respect. If offered a whole tilapia, gut it and take away the thick armour of scales. Tilapia is often a versatile ingredient. It complements numerous flavours, as well as the firmness of the flesh can make it excellent for pan-frying, grilling, or deep-frying in the crisp beer batter.
