Skillet Tilapia With Shrimp
This simple Skillet Tilapia with Shrimp is usually a quick weeknight dinner that tastes exactly like an Olive Garden knock-off!
A couple weeks ago I went along to the classic Italian Restaurant that is certainly know for it is rarely ending salad and breadsticks… Olive Garden.
I'm about free carbs.
Anyways, I ordered myself something light to choose my 99 breadsticks. I ordered their baked Tilapia with Shrimp. It was most enjoyable on the palate, but I couldn't help but thinking how easy it might be for me to get this in my own kitchen.
Let's be real guys. I have 4 children with bottomless pits for stomachs.
I do not want to take my children out to eat often. So when I found 6 substantial Tilapia filets for $4 inside my local grocery store… yeah… that sure beats paying $16 for starters.
I took all of my ingredients home and whipped up this delicious meal in just 20 minutes.
I fed my whole family, a cafe or restaurant worthy meal, cheaper than $15, inside of 20 minutes.
Let's just point out that after that I knew I needed to express it along with you. I'm just nice that way. 🙂
Your household is going to love this light and refreshing, restaurant worthy dinner!
Skillet Tilapia with Shrimp
This light and flakey Tilapia is included in a delicious white wine and lemon sauce and tender baby shrimp. All carried out one skillet!
Print Recipe
salt and pepper
2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
Heat oil within a heavy bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Swirl oil around in pan to coat. Once hot, reduce heat to medium.
Season tilapia filets with salt and pepper on both sides and set in hot skillet. Cook for three or four minutes per side, or until fish is opaque and flakes easily. Remove from skillet and put on a dish and warm.
Toss the garlic in to the hot skillet and stir until fragrant, about half a minute. Pour the white wine in the pan and utilize a wooden spoon to scrape any browned bits on the bottom on the pan. Add the chicken broth and fresh lemon juice and cook till the liquid has reduced to about 1/2. Add in the butter and parsley and stir until melted.
Add the shrimp on the skillet and cook in sauce till the shrimp have turned pink, about 5 minutes. Serve the shrimp and sauce on top with the tilapia filets. Enjoy!
